Jack Rackham, commonly known as Calico Jack, was an English pirate captain operating in the Bahamas and in Cuba during the early 18th century. He appears in Tales of the Witchblade Issue 1.
Early Life Edit
Jack sailed the seas of Bahamas under the pirate flag, searching for the next opportunity to profit. During one of his visits to local port, Jack met a young girl, Anne Bonny, and immediately fell in love with each other. Although women were forbidden on pirate vessels, they knew they had to be together always. And thus, Anne joined the Jack's pirate crew.
Island of the Witchblade Edit
After aquiring a rare treasure map during a tavern brawl, Jack and Anne found themselves in the company of William and Mary Read, a pirate team whose love for hunting the rarest prizes brought them together. Although the map warned that the entire island is alive, they headed to a deserted island. There they realised that the island is crawling with plants that eat people, unlimited supply of feral cats and land masses that has a mind of its own.
As Anne and part of the crew explored the island, Jack stayed on the ship. Suddenly they are attacked by Blackbeard. Although Jack and his crew bravely fight back in the end they're overwhelmed by Queen Anne's Revenge and they sink with the ship.
- Historically, Rackham was the architect of the now-familiar Jolly Roger flag which was later turned into the symbol of pirate life.
